Wow, what a whirlwind weekend! We celebrated Hanna’s first birthday with a garden themed brunch and it was so much fun. I was overly ambitious (as usual), and overestimated my talents (as usual) and underestimated the time necessary to accomplish my tasks (as usual). But things still came out pretty cute and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Except possibly the neighbor who did not realize the punch was “spiked” but, hey, you can’t please everyone.
My parents were here to help me prepare and take care of the kids which is always a huge relief. They have been here for all of the kids parties and I love that. We may all be far away but we’re together when it counts. 🙂
Our garden menu included egg salad and chicken salad sandwiches wrapped in parchment, ants on a log, grape caterpillars, ladybug chocolate covered pretzels, worms in dirt, cupcakes and raspberry spiked punch. SO CUTE. The kids played with all of Hanna’s new presents and decorated shirts with potato stamps and fabric paint. It was literally 102 degrees out so we spent the majority of the party beating the heat indoors. Our house is small. Eight small children inside of said small house = chaos. But very enjoyable none the less.
Thank you to everyone who came and celebrated our baby girl’s big day. How time flies!
